This new edition of George MacDonald's 1875 children's classic is presented and introduced as Volume 17 in The Cullen Collection by Michael Phillips.
This shorter fairy tale, “The Lost Princess” or “A Double Story” (by which titles it was also published), tells the story of spoiled Princess Rosamond, and a mysterious wise woman whom she meets in the forest, and who continues to come to her in different guises which the princess does not always recognize.
Considered by some as one of MacDonald’s “short stories” rather than a novel, this edition for The Cullen Collection, which is unedited in any way, also includes MacDonald's insightful essay, "The Fantastic Imagination."
This edition for The Cullen Collection is unedited in any way.
